The following documents, duly filled and signed by purchaser and seller, along with original “Registration Certificate” would be submitted in the office of relevant ETO. In case of clear vehicle new registration book would be issued to the owner. Normal time period for the transaction is 3-5 days.
- Form “Transfer Letter” duly filled, signed and attested by the Notary Public.
- Form “T.O.” duly filled, signed and attested by the Notary Public.
- Photocopies of C.N.I.Cs (seller & Purchaser both) attested by Notary Public
- Transfer Fee paid in a branch of National Bank and owner’s copy should be attached with the application form.
- Sale Agreement on a stamp paper of Rs. 100/- and attested by the Notary Public.
- The seller and purchaser should appear before the Excise and Taxation Officer with their C.N.I.Cs.
- Vehicles registered in other districts / provinces, prior to transfer the ownership, should also ensure that their arrival has been reported in Excise and Taxation Department.
- The particular of vehicle will be verified by the computer database.

Following documents along with original “Registration Certificate” would be submitted in ETO’s office for reporting the arrival of a vehicle. The documents would be returned to the owner after completion of official procedure.
- Form R.M.A. duly filled and signed by the owner of the vehicle
- Owner’s copy of NBP’s challan form to confirm that Arrival Fee has been deposited.
- Clearance from computer cell.
Any alteration i.e. Engine or Body should be communicated to the concerned Excise and Taxation Officer. The original “Registration Certificate” along-with the following documents would be submitted in the ETO’s office for proper updation of data in computer as well as in “Registration Certificate”.
- Application to the Excise and Taxation Officer on a plain paper.
- Copy of NBP’s challan form on which Engine / Body Alteration Fee deposited in the Bank.
- In case of commercial vehicle clearance of Motor Vehicle Examiner of Police Department would also be required.
- In case of non-commercial vehicle clearance from Excise and Taxation Inspector (ETI) would be required.
- The particulars (in all cases of the vehicle will be verified through computer database.
In case of loss or destruction of original “Registration Certificate” the duplicate “Registration Certificate” based on existing data available with Excise and Taxation Department would be issued. The required documents and forms are as under:
- Copy of advertisement given in daily Newspaper.
- Copy of F.I.R. of the case.
- In case of destruction of “Registration Certificate” F.I.R. and advertisement would not be required.
- Form C.R.L.D. will be filled and signed by the owner of the vehicles (In case of Govt: / Company vehicle the form would be signed by the Head of Department / Company/ Section)
- An affidavit on stamp paper of Rs. 100/- from the owner.
- Duplicate Registration Certificate Fee would also be deposited in the designated branch of National Bank of Pakistan.
- The owner will also provide evidence in the form of Certificate issued by the Manager of National Bank of Pakistan regarding payment of Road Tax.
- The particulars of the vehicle will be verified through computer database.

A person having one self occupied residential unit having covered area upto 5000/ sq feet is exempted from property tax. However application for tax exemption would be submitted by the owner on annual basis.
For obtaining exemptions the owners are to submit an application in the office of the relevant Excise and Taxation Officer every year. After fulfilling all legal formalities an exemption certificate is issued to the owner by the ETO. The application should be accompanied by:
- Form P.T. 19, which is a declaration for self occupation.
- A photocopy of N.I.C.
- An affidavit on a Rs. 100/- stamp paper stating that the property unit is self occupied. (The wording of stamp paper is almost same as Form P.T.19)
- Previous exemption certificate, if any.
