Director General (North Zone)

The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Directorate executes various functions under different laws pointing to revenue collection in terms of various taxes and duties. There is a larger and broad horizon of this tax regime that needs to be upgraded from manual to scientific base. The drive is to smartly manage the tax regime in order that human interference is minimized; processes are made more system-driven; procedures are public-friendly and to provide an integrative system of tax management. The Directorate is striving to also control the prevalence of drug addiction through interception, interdiction, and control of drugs. Various reforms are under way to improve these sectors.
